Youth Story: Chirring

Youth Story: Chirring

When Chirring was just 4, his father passed away and with the financial burden left over from the traditional expensive funeral, he was sent away to a children's home as his mother could not support him and his 2 sisters. Furthermore, his father's side of the family bullied her mother and offered no support. So at a young age, Chirring was sent to grow up in a children's home in the village of Khanbari where he overcame lots of adversity but still stayed on track to complete his education. While staying in the children's home, he first encountered Christ and undoubtedly placed his faith in Jesus. Driven with motivation and belief in God, Chirring completed 10th grade and moved to Kathmandu to pursue higher education. However, this transition was not without hardship as Chirring was pressured to go back to his village to marry but he escaped with the little money and resources he had. Chirring recalls that on his tumultous journey in Kathamndu, he often prayed to God for help and money and God answered his call. When he came to Kathmandu, he was lonely and often lost but he found Mr. Phurpu's church, immediately feeling embraced and "happy to have found a place that cares about him." As of today, Chirring has found his way with Christ, serves as a worship leader at Uncle Phurpu's church, and seeks to study pharmaceutical medicine but his tuition costs are hindering him from completing his studies and part of the reason that he dropped from the track towards medical school. Please pray and send support for Chirring as he continues to work hard towards his goals!
